Our commitment has been rewarded with loyal Team Members who bring a depth of knowledge, experience, and insight that we value greatly. In addition, many of our Team Members started at AHA as college co-op students and summer interns.

AHA History
In August of 1991, Arthur Abbood and Martin (Marty) Holloran incorporated Abbood Holloran Associates in Waltham, MA. Despite the recession of the early 1990’s, our Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing design firm rose out of the economic downturn and experienced immediate growth by landing engagements on high profile projects such as Biogen IV facility in Cambridge, MA as well as projects for other well-established Science & Technology clients such as Genzyme and Mitre Corporation. Within the decade, we grew to over 100 professionals.

In 2000, Arthur retired, and as the first step in an ownership and leadership succession plan, the Company ownership transitioned to include Daniel (Dan) Campia, Joseph (Joe Kaz) Kazlauskas and Kevin Jensen. At this juncture, the Company also changed its name from Abbood Holloran Associates, Inc. to AHA Consulting Engineers, Inc. as well as moved the company headquarters from Waltham to Lexington, MA. In addition, we opened an office in greater Atlanta (Alpharetta), GA to provide regional market diversity.
In 2003, AHA established a long-standing presence in the Philadelphia, PA market with our first project at the University of Pennsylvania which was part of a collaboration with Forest City Development’s Cambridge, MA office.
In 2006, as a second step in an ownership and leadership succession plan, several additional key Team Members became equity partners including Conleth O’Flynn, Robert (Bob) Andrews and Tom Joyner.
In 2011, to better serve our Science & Technology clients in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA as well as accommodate Team Members who prefer commuting by mass transportation, biking and walking, we opened a Cambridge, MA office.
In 2016, the leadership succession plan continued with the retirement of Dan Campia and Joe Kazlauskas, promoting Kevin Jensen and Conleth O’Flynn to Co-Managing Partner roles with founding Partner, Marty Holloran becoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ownership succession plan continued with additional key Team Members becoming equity partners including Jesse Foley. Furthermore, AHA formalized the unique and successful ongoing Path-to-Partnership program.
In 2020, we moved the Cambridge, MA office to downtown Boston adjacent to City Hall Plaza and Government Center in close proximity to the majority of the mass transportation commuting hubs.
In 2023, Marty Holloran assumed the position of Chairman of the Board, Kevin Jensen transitioned into a Senior Partner and Board Member role with Conleth O’Flynn becoming Company President, and Tom Joyner, Jesse Foley and Bob Andrews stepping into roles as Co-Managing Partners. In addition, AHA established a partial Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Since 2023, we have opened two more offices, one in Philadelphia, PA, and the other in Ashburn, VA.

ESOP
In 2023, AHA implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), transforming our Team Members into true stakeholders in the company’s success. As employee-owners, our Team Members now share directly in AHA’s financial growth and operational achievements. This ownership provides substantial long-term retirement benefits that go beyond our existing 401(k) profit sharing program.
The ESOP has also brought meaningful intangible rewards, such as enhanced collaboration, increased productivity, and greater job satisfaction. With a personal investment in the company’s performance, every employee is motivated to ensure that our projects—and our client relationships—reach their fullest potential. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Path to Partnership
AHA has been successfully navigating an ongoing ownership and leadership succession plan since 2000 to maintain the Company’s founding identity and culture.
In 2016, AHA formalized our unique and successful Path to Partnership Plan that provides each Team Member with road map and steps to become a leader and equity partner in AHA.
The Path to Partnership is a discretionary merit-based opportunity open to all Team Members. (Please note some leadership positions may require certain qualifications such as a PE, etc.)
The Path to Partnership is based on our values for hard work, dedication, and a passion for excellence. We believe that our Team Members are our greatest asset, and we’re committed to investing in their growth and development.
The Path to Partnership is designed to help high-performing employees advance in their careers and ultimately become partners in the firm. We provide ongoing mentorship, professional development opportunities, and exposure to business operations to help progress along the path to partnership.
Your opportunity awaits.
